Preface to Japan trip - my dad
I mentioned a while ago of my dad's cancer diagnosis. He has an extensive colon tumour that had spread to his bowel and liver (by the time it was discovered).
Dad was very optimistic, underwent a massive surgery, one lot of chemo and then after discovering that that chemo was not effective underwent another lot of highly potent chemo, which made dad really ill, but he remained optimistic.
The current situation now is that my dad has been taken off chemo and radiation and his care is now palliative. He has a 24 hour morphine infusion pump to help control pain, and has been given a time frame that stretches from days to weeks.

I could not begin any post about Japan without sharing this news first.
