For The Haby Goddess
I signed up to this swap before my last exam. I really needed something to look forward to and I haven't been involved in a swap for the longest time. I thought a Christmas themed swap would be easy but something happened to my creative flow during the past few months...settling down to do some crafting I couldn't think of a single thing to make. I ended up calling my trusty helper husband for some advice.
The conversations went something like this:
Me: "Hi sweetie"
Me: "I don't want to bother you but I am having a little trouble with something"
Me: "Well, I joined up to this Christmas swap thingy and for the life of me I cannot think of anything to make"
Me: "I keep thinking a tree ornament but everything I look at online looks too hard, I want to do some embroidery but I really suck at embroidery, then I thought maybe something like a little folky bird with blanket stitch, you know"
Me: "I need it finished by Friday...waaah, freaking out!!"
Me: "I know - I'll make a wreath!! Yay a wreath.... yay me - thanks so much sweetie. See you tonight"
As you can see, my husband's insistence on staying silent when I talk craft really is enormously helpful. He thought it looked beautiful (as did the girls) so I am feeling pretty good about it.
Isn't that Scandi style fabric pretty. I bought it at Spotlight and it works perfectly glued to the back of the wreath to cover up the ribbon ends.
I'll tell you what though, it feels nothing like Christmas right now - freezing cold, wet, windy, yuck!
