Mondays

My Monday mornings are pretty rad. I drive into the city just after peak hour, to my coaching class, prac and lecture on health and homeostasis. I know that doesn't sound rad, but to me it's awesome. I'll tell you why.

Once upon a time, driving to a new place would have me in such a mess of heart palpitations and anxiety filled terror that rarely would I do it, without intense research beforehand. Knowing I had to drive to the City Campus every Monday this semester gave me nightmares for months before the event. I was sure I would get lost, have an accident, not find my class, not find a car park that I just didn't want to do it.

It only took about 4 weeks for me to settle in to the routine, that is 4 weeks of using the TomTom to go the exact same route (hey, maybe they changed the road direction over the course of a weekend...). I park at the exact same place and smile at the cranky attendant. Get my coffee at the same cafe (Toby's Estate - delicious), go to the same building and meet up with my peeps. I am stoked that I am experiencing a new part of Sydney, that I go to uni right opposite the ABC building (702 is my favourite station and I am in love with Deb Cameron and Richard Glover simultaneously) and learn a pretty exciting and dynamic subject.

Hope your Monday's are pretty cool too.

I love the pic of the bridge! I wish I could drove over the harbour bridge every week. It is my favourite part of Sydney. I am the same with driving new places. I hate not knowing where I am going so I always panic. I never drive in Brisbane! I always make Corey drive.

I've been a nervous driver for a lot of my driving life (usually only when going somewhere new). But a little trick I use now is to think of the people in the cars rather than just seeing them as cars. Crazy, I know, but it works!
