Sunday...

...is wet, and humid (82% currently). Too wet for outside play but not cold enough for doona snuggling, movie watching. The girls are restless and want to do something!! Andrew pulled out a recipe he has been wanting to try and lured the girls into the kitchen for some cooking which everyone loves (especially me, coz I get to sneak off to my den and do some sewing )

Looks good huh? Even though it's hot here, the rain makes it perfectly acceptable to make Winter puddings, like caramel apple pudding that we will take to my sister's tonight for a surprise!

What kids don't like cooking? You need to be prepared for mess, and a little bit of fighting over who gets to pour the sugar and whisk the eggs, but if you're feeling patient then this is an excellent rainy day activity!

I am almost finished my eye for an eyelet jacket from Twinkle Sews! I started this on Friday night and due to some enormous mistakes on my part (like forgetting to sew the button extension on and putting the waistband on upside down) it is finally looking good! I was so tempted to forget the button extension since it fit quite nicely across my small bust but I really wanted to not take short cuts or rush through so I unpicked half of it whilst watching Hot Rod last night with Andrew. It was funny!! We giggled like a couple of school girls!

I also finally finished this tunic-y thing that I started ages ago. All it needed was bias on the arm holes but that was enough for me to put it aside for a while. I think this will look cute with a long sleeved t shirt under it in Winter (and Autumn I suppose) over jeans.

So that's our Sunday so far. I hope you are all having a lovely lazy weekend.

* Please keep my sister in law Bec in your thoughts, she is due to give birth to her second baby in May but has been having some painful contractions. She is going to the hospital today for monitoring.

Hope all is positive on the Bec Baby front... scary times ahead.

I love that you went back and 'fixed' your mistakes. That takes a bit of self determination which I don't think I could do.

More Nudity... hehe

I am a little jealous that you got to sew and yummy dessert for after - but I bet you got left the dishes too. Looks like a great way to spend a sticky day, Caleb loves to spread his wings in the kitchen.
The jacket looks so good, I love all the tailoring you have been doing and how much you try and sew for yourself.
Sending out as many positive thought for your SIL. xx

How was the apple pudding? Looked delish.

I'll keep your sis-in-law + baby in my prayers.
