news

So on my way to Spotlight this morning (where I bumped into the beautiful Claire - what a nice surprise), after I had been taken out to breakfast by my very good friend Sjaan, I parked right in front of Lincraft and saw they had a 50% off all fabric sale! Yikes! I went straight for dressmaking fabrics as I am well stocked in quilting cotton and kiddie fabrics. I bought some eyelet cotton, some black Swiss dot and some amazing chiffon (which, I may add, I have never sewed with before, ahem!)

In my new Twinkle Sews book there is a beautiful pattern (apparently easy) of a little puff sleeved jacket in eyelet that closes at the waist with a button. It's very pretty and although I wanted black for that this was just so cheap that I couldn't go past it.

I bought the chiffon because it's so beautiful - stunning colours and feels divine!! There is a blouse in the Twinkle Sews made of chiffon, also supposedly easy, that I want to try out (but will be making a toile first, I have learnt my lesson!!)

Finally, the big news is that Lucia has her first wobbly tooth! She is so, so excited, she cannot stop jiggling it around, so much so that I really need to start this little matyroshka doll pocket pillow before she pulls the whole thing out!!

I bought this insanely beautiful sewing calendar a few days in the new year when it was marked down to only $13 at my local newsagent. It has so many fantastic projects in there, so full of inspiration.

Oh, and Siena, when you read this, you so, SO busted for taking the left over lasagne to school! I have been looking forward to that for lunch since I woke up this morning!!!!

I feel your wrath! I never, ever, even when I hide 'em waaay at the back of the fridge, get to eat the yummy leftovers. Only the sodding baked beans. Yummy fabric though and hope the tooth fairy visit goes smoothly (do I sound recently traumatised?).

That is such a frustrating feeling when you've been looking forward to eating something all day only to find that it has disappeared from the fridge. Awful!
Wow - sounds like you've had a very busy day and snapped up some great bargains - love the look of the calendar.

Great fabric finds. I love the doll and it is hilarious when parents bust their kids, must be nice to be on the other side of it!
