argh

After meticulously pinning and cutting about a gazillion pattern pieces and carefully measuring and sewing them together I was really hoping for a casual but swanky pair of new slouchy jeans...

complete with gorgeous lined set in pockets, overlocked of course coz that is my favourite thing to do now...

And yes my friends, that is a zip fly!

You know why they all tell you to make up a practice one in cheap fabric don't you! So you don't make huge major mistakes with the good fabric that you only realise at the end, like sewing in one of the pockets back to front....now one hand can sit comfortably on my hip whilst the other one rudley rests on my bum!!

oh no... what a shocking discovery to make at the very end. VERY frustrating indeed!!!
If you wear them enough perhaps you can make a fashion forecast for 2011 - garments with only one functioning pocket?!?!

oh noooooo! poor you! But can I just say how lovely they look!

can you undo the pocket and redo it?

Corrie:)

You have to leave it the way it is - it sounds just perfect. I love it and how brave are you to attempt the pants and the fly - you know Andrew is going to have orders now don't you. I think the backward pocket is so going to be Milan 2010

Ha ha, I have to laugh - I did exactly the same thing (except two backward pockets) when I made some shorts for Miss A a while ago! I FEEL your frustration and yes I did unpick it all and redo!

Ugh! Not cool at all. So sorry! They look like they are really cute though.

Ha ha, that made me laugh. I got quite the mental picture!

Anyway, can you fix it easily?

Ha! I have to say that made me chuckle. A photo of you in the jeans, with your hands in the pockets would have been perfect. Hopefully it won't take you too long to undo and fix :)

I've got that same fabric in my stash but am a little unsure what to do with it. I was half thinking I might make a dress but think it might turn out looking too office-y. Looking forward to seeing how yours turns out.
