Lookee here!

After a very quick and lovely visit from my fancy friend, I made a mad dash to Woolworths to see for myself the apron I made that was used in their Good Taste magazine. I stood like a fool gawking at. my. apron!! What a thrill to se something I made in print - obviously this has never happened to me before!

There it is - used for advertising of Nestle choc bits - kind of ironic it was used for Nestle since I have been boycotting them since I was like, born! It started with my mum indoctrinating us from the moment we could understand and has carried on into my family and my siblings familes. Andrew was pretty miffed when he realised he wasn't ever going to be able to buy Milo again but he got over it.

(the Sew Hip magazine was in the newsagency finally so I got that too!)

I made this quick top for myself yesterday using some remnants from Spotlight. I used the Amanda pattern from Burdastyle, which is such a terrific resource. It's kind of annoying doing all that printing and sticking together but to not have to travel for a pattern is so awesome. Note, if you do decide to print out this pattern the directions are shocking, I had to keep referring to the site pictures to figure out how to make it come together.

I love the tie up at the shoulder (holy crow how many chins do I have??)

How exciting your apron is in a magazine. Even if it is for a product you have boycotted. Congratulations!

Firstly congrats on the apron... it looks lovely. Its hard to boycott Nestle but we also try to. Secondly the top looks great, and having seen you in person I can confirm that you only have one! Thirdly I have that same print and that pattern looks very cute... though I am not sure if could pull it off. I love your necklace by the way. Where did you get it from?

Congrats Miss and love the top! I'm attempting to make myself a dress to wear this Friday. So far I've only got to the washing fabric and cutting out stage. We'll see if I can pull it off.

p.s. For the record I definitely have more chins than you. Just sayin'

SO much good stuff in that post - I love it! First up congrats on the apron, I have to go buy the magazine too now. That is pretty cool. Love the top too, a few people have made comments on the Burda style being a bit 'challenging' to say the least. It looks super nice too - as for the double chins, I think that may have to do more with the contortions to get the photo than your lovely self.

How very exciting! Even if it did appear in a Nestle ad! Well done on maintaining your boycott - I've boycotted Nestle since uni days, but they keep buying labels without me realising! Grrr! I've only just realised they now own the Body Shop.

I'm really pleased to hear that Eva is feeling a lot better, too!
