Post Market Sewing...

Thank you for your overwhelming support...It's hard for me to put myself out there, I can be a little shy and I worry what people will think. I was so angry on Sunday when I got home from the market mainly because I was just really tired from doing so much work, sacrificing time with my kids and my husband to be prepared the market, to have enough stock, when I saw people just pulling copius amounts of stock from a huge packing box, I nearly cried! Makes me wonder why anyone bothers with handmade.

OK enough with the moaning and groaning, we do handmade because we love it, because we believe in it and because we want to teach our kids what's important.

Here is naked Evie (when isn't she naked seriously) in her new brimmed headscarf. The very kind and sweet Bianca lent we a whole whack of Ottobre magazines and this is one of the first things I made from it.
Hello - stinking cute huh! (even with a mouthful of food!)

And whilst eva was frolicking in the garden I was reading my new and first Japanese pattern book! Hooray for new patterns. I bought mine here, the book plus postage was cheaper than buying from Sydney! How crazy is that. Since I have my new budget I am sure to be careful how much I spend coz I want it to last!

Look at all this beauty:

Thank you again for taking the time and commenting, it really made my day.

Love it, she looks gorgeous. Lucy hates being nude.

Brilliant first choice of pattern to do. Small and absolutely gorgeous (Evie too!) Nice to see the girl patterns put to use in those issues!

I didn't get around to commenting on your post yesterday, but good on you for wearing your heart on your sleeve like that. I noticed at the last Mathilda's that the notion of "homemade" was stretched a bit. It's not only a shame, but really misleading and very disappointing - I choose to attend because of the advertised handmade element (oh and to see you guys!).

That book is on my wishlist too. Did you like it? I can't wait to see what you'll be making from it!

I'm a bit behind on my blogreading, so I missed your post about the market. But I'll get to that later today :-)
