Another finished quilt for my sister who is down here for a few days from QLD. She, very conveniently, found out that she is expecting a boy (on my birthday - January 20) so making this quilt was really fun as I didn't need to be careful about fabric choices (not that I was careful about Neve's quilt, it was unashamedly girly and I was hoping for the best!!)

A little beetle I hired for the photoshoot...clever huh!

When I was at Spotty looking for some batting, I saw some horrid purple fleece in the remnant bin and thought it could work as batting instead. For $2 I took the chance. It actually feels so lovely and juicy and I found doing the quilting part quite easy as the fleece was thin and the fabric stuck to it!

Just a shot of the backing fabric, gorgeous navy - I think called french navy - lovely and dark, almost black.

I held a little surprise shower for Stefanie and her new husband Bob at my house today and they really liked the quilt (I mean what were they going to do with me right there pointing a camera at them!), they received so many gorgeous goodies.

It was fun, too many cakes and cups of tea I think though!
I know I have been offline of late but I have had 2 little sickie girls (Lucia and Eva) at home needing mummy 24/7 and making any kind of communicating really hard. I think they are on the up though so hopefully life gets back to normal soon.
