my creative space

Thank you for all the lovely comments concerning my father in law (Tony). My mother in law (Carol) came over last night and told us that he is doing fantastically. She said he has a beautiful colour and is eating and peeing (all great signs). He is out of intensive care and on the ward. Hooray for Tony!!

Here is my creative space: Isn't it gorgeous? Carol organised this great desk for me with little alcoves at the back to hold my pattern books, scissors, pin cushions etc. It is so long and I really like looking out the window. Right there on the left of my machine is the inner bag I am sewing up for the bean bag...what a catastrophe!

Lookee what else I have aquired...an overlocker! It's Carol's but she doesn't need it right now so it's for my use for as long as I need. I am so dang excited to use this, it's going to cut my sewing time in half. I also can't wait to start using stretch fabrics which I have been putting off for ages becasue I was worried that they wouldn't be easy to sew on a regular machine. YAY ME!!

This old chest of drawers holds all my fabric. One day I would really love a glass fronted cabinet so I could see it all but for now this is fine. On top is a box holding all my patterns that I print from the net and a crate full of bought patterns. I also have on there a little bib and t shirt set to give to a friend who has just had a new baby.

I am seriously enjoying my creative space. Last night Andrew and I were using it together, it made me feel a bit giggly and school girlish but he was unamused by my constant chattering (he just needed to work) so I had to imagine I was in a library and just be quiet!

Oh, you lucky, lucky girl! A lovely workspace, and an OVERLOCK to boot! Very nice.

I'm so happy to hear about your FIL, too -- great news!

Hi Sophie,
Glad your FIL is on the mend. Your creative space it wonderful. If it is your space then hubby should only be allowed in by invitation lol and giggling should be allowed at all times when one is creating.
I learnt stretch fabric sewing years ago and I only had a regular sewing machine which works beautifully as well so don't worry.

That is a great space and hooray for a serger! I contemplate stealing my Moms every now and again. Never knew them as an 'overlocker' before. I think that sounds nicer than 'serger'. lol
