Olympics at Elanora

I never get involved with school activities. I did when Siena was little but now that she is 12 and in year 6 I am not really needed to help out much (I have NEVER done canteen duty!). I knew that Siena's school was having an Olympic day and they needed volunteers but I just felt it was too hard taking Eva to something like that when I can't keep an eye on her. Anyway, the class parent sent an urgent email out to all the parents of year 6'ers to say that there was a mass shortage of helpers and please parents come and volunteers some time. So, Andrew worked from home today and looked after Eva so I could help out. HOLY CROW, I thought I would be supervising games of coits but oh no, I was participating in multiple games of dodge ball where there was actually no ball but about 30 rubber 'jellyfish' I had to pelt at the kids whilst they ran around for 10 minutes trying to dodge the UFO's. I did this for an hour and a half. I was SO TIRED that by the time the last group of kids came by I could barely pick up the jellyfish let alone throw them so no one ended up getting out!

Here are the photos from the opening ceremony.

Jellyfish? For an hour and a half? Did you get to go home after and take a nap? lol Glad to see that Canada was represented. Would you volunteer again?

Hey Carmen,
Yes jellyfish! What a cool Olympic sport! In all seriousness I would volunteer again because Siena loved having me there, she felt very special.
